Program Participation Terms

Effective Date: October 3, 2026.

1. Scope of these terms

These Program Participation Terms govern participation in educational groups, workshops, events, and other facilitated community activities provided by Love Beyond Belief, Inc. (“LBB”), whether held online or in person.

They apply together with LBB’s Community Guidelines and any separate written agreement applicable to the activity. A separate written agreement may address additional arrangements without reducing rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.

2. Educational purpose and limits

LBB activities are educational and community-based. They are not psychotherapy, diagnosis, medical or mental-health treatment, emergency response, or a substitute for professional care.

A facilitator’s participation does not create a clinical relationship. Participants must not rely on LBB or another participant for urgent assessment, crisis intervention, or treatment. No particular personal, relational, spiritual, or civic result is guaranteed.

3. Voluntary participation and personal boundaries

Participation and personal disclosure are voluntary. A participant may decline to answer a question, take a break, or stop participating. No person is required to adopt a religious belief, political position, or account of their own experience offered by someone else.

Reflection and discussion may involve emotionally significant subjects. Participants are encouraged to consider their needs, set appropriate boundaries, and seek qualified support outside the activity when needed. Choosing not to disclose does not remove the obligation to follow applicable conduct and safety rules.

4. Respectful conduct

Participants must follow the Community Guidelines, respect personal boundaries, comply with reasonable facilitator directions, and avoid harassment, threats, discrimination, dehumanizing language, retaliation, and conduct that materially disrupts the activity.

Respectful disagreement is permitted. Participation does not require agreement with other people’s beliefs or interpretations. Disagreement must not be used to justify intimidation, targeting, or disregard for another person’s dignity or safety.

5. Confidentiality and privacy

Participants must not disclose another person’s identity, personal story, statements, or identifying details outside the activity without that person’s express permission, except when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to seek help concerning a serious safety concern.

Participants may discuss their own experience without identifying others or revealing another person’s information. Confidentiality expectations continue after participation ends.

LBB cannot guarantee that every participant will keep information confidential, that an online connection will remain private, or that statements made in an activity are protected by a legal privilege.

LBB and facilitators may share information when required by applicable law, lawful legal process, or applicable reporting duties, or when reasonably necessary to address a serious safety concern. Information may also be shared on a need-to-know basis to respond to a conduct report. Only information reasonably needed for the purpose should be disclosed.

6. No recording or automated capture

Participants must not make audio or video recordings, take screenshots or photographs of sessions or participants, create transcripts, or use automated transcription tools or AI meeting assistants to capture an activity without prior express written authorization from LBB and the affected participants.

Authorization for one activity does not authorize recording another. Publicly available recordings and materials remain subject to their stated permissions. A participant may not publish or distribute another person’s contribution merely because access to it was possible.

An accessibility-related recording or transcription request must be discussed with LBB before capture takes place so that an appropriate arrangement can be considered while protecting other participants’ privacy and legal rights.

7. Materials and intellectual property

LBB materials and third-party resources remain the property of their respective rights holders. When a handout or resource is provided for personal participation, a participant may use it for that purpose, subject to any stated license or restrictions.

Participation does not grant a right to reproduce or distribute curriculum, sell materials, adapt them for another offering, train others, represent oneself as an authorized LBB facilitator, or use LBB names or marks to imply endorsement. Additional use requires permission from the appropriate rights holder.

This section does not restrict uses permitted by applicable law. Participants retain rights in their own original contributions; participation alone does not authorize LBB to publish their stories, names, images, or testimonials.

8. Safety and facilitator action

LBB or a facilitator may redirect discussion, pause an activity, restrict access, or suspend or end participation when reasonably necessary to protect safety, privacy, boundaries, or the integrity of the activity.

Where circumstances permit, the concern and available next steps will be explained. Immediate protective action may be taken without prior warning when a serious concern requires it. Safety action does not establish that LBB can provide clinical assessment or emergency services.

In an emergency, contact the emergency services or qualified crisis support appropriate to your location. LBB contact forms are not an emergency service and should not be used for urgent crisis information.

9. Accessibility and participation needs

Participants may contact LBB to discuss accessibility or participation needs. Requests will be considered in light of applicable law and the requirements of the activity. Participants should not disclose more sensitive information than is necessary to explain the request.

An accommodation must not be assumed from submission of a request; the appropriate arrangements will be discussed. Nothing in these terms limits accessibility rights provided by law.

10. Withdrawal and separate arrangements

A participant may stop attending or withdraw. Withdrawal does not remove continuing confidentiality, intellectual-property, or other obligations that reasonably survive participation.

Any financial, cancellation, or other arrangements are governed by the separately communicated terms applicable to the activity and by law. These general terms do not create a fee, establish a refund schedule, or waive statutory rights.

11. Concerns and requests for review

Participants may raise a privacy, conduct, or participation concern with the facilitator or through LBB’s Contact pathway. If the concern involves the facilitator, it may be directed to LBB instead.

LBB may request information needed to understand the concern and will consider it in light of safety, privacy, and applicable obligations. Reporting in good faith must not result in retaliation. Confidentiality will be respected as far as reasonably possible, but absolute secrecy or anonymity cannot be promised.

A participant may request that LBB review a decision concerning their participation. A review request does not prevent immediate protective action or guarantee reinstatement.

12. Personal information and research

LBB’s Privacy Policy explains its handling of personal information. Participants must not provide another person’s sensitive information unnecessarily through intake or contact forms.

Acceptance of these terms is not consent to publication of a story, image, recording, or testimonial, and is not informed consent to participation in research. Any such use or research participation requires the separate permissions and procedures applicable to it.

13. Acceptance and later changes

Where LBB requires acceptance of these terms, a participant must affirmatively accept them before the activity begins. Submission of an inquiry alone does not constitute enrollment or acceptance of a participation agreement.

LBB may revise these terms for future activities. Material changes applicable to continuing participation will be communicated, and renewed acceptance will be obtained when appropriate or required. Revised terms will not retroactively authorize an otherwise unauthorized disclosure, recording, or use of a participant’s contribution.

14. Legal rights and contact

Nothing in these terms excludes a right, remedy, or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent permitted by law.

Questions about these terms may be submitted through LBB’s Contact pathway.
